Firefox - Problems & Solutions

Hey all,

I'm loving Firefox since i switched to using it instead of IE. I've had little to no problems with it. Right now when i view a pg w. java - like a java chat I get the 'install missing plugin' box. I attempt to install it and the windows installer does it little dance. It appears to do its job. Them firefox reloads the pg. automatically, i think, b/c the 'install missing plugins' box disapears and i get a pop up saying 'you must restart firefox for the new plug in to work' . I close FF and start it back up on the same page but i still see no java chat. The install failed.

I've checked my firewall to make sure i've all owed accessd to java I've been super careful and only allow acces to programs i am currently using. If i need to allow a program acces to the internet i do it per deim. I don't know what the problem could be. I just use IE when i need to see a pg w. java but i'd really like to know what the problem is.

I'm no expert with firefox plugins, but I feel it sometimes makes a difference as who you install it. Also, perhaps you just need Sun's JRE installed first. I think FF cannot download that as well, so give installing the Sun JRE a fling.

It plays nice with my Camino... but this is a Mac, so that's simpler anyways.

Same for me - works well under both Linux and Windows.
