Can you view your cookies, delete any that are set by GMail, and then select "Ask me which cookies to accept" or something like this in the Cookies under Privacy options. This way you'll see if GMail sets cookies correct. It should work, works OK in both my Linux and Windows foxes
. It must be something in your settings, we just need to figure out whatCheers |

I've had this problem before with hotmail and I didn't realize thatwhen you remove a cookie from firefox there is a checkbox in the menu which says 'block removed sites from adding future cookies' or something to hat effect. It took me a week before i realized this could be my problem. I removed a cookie that hotmail set and I didn't realize that firefox wasn't letting it set cookies based on this.
I'd say go back into FireFox and reset the program to its defaults then do Technobeast suggested (tell it to Ask which cookies to accept or tell firefox to ask to accept all cookies.) being sure you do not have a checkmark in the box labled "Block removed sites from adding future cookies'. That should work like a charm.
