Can anyone one here help?
I'm angling for Dreamcasters attention, heh. He designed the artwork for this site I think? That doesn't mean that I wouldn't appreciate any I can get.
A few friends and I run a small music news & forums site, and we need a new banner to match the new skin choices we have went with. I've created a few, but the general opinion is that my artistic tastes suck. Beatking I'll post samples of our 2 forums skins here to give an idea of the colors. The banner needs to be approx. 468 X 60. Preferably making note that we are primarily a music site. I suppose Dark Blue and Silver or Black and Silver would make the most sense. Help? |

Ok, you've got my attention here
Are you looking for something that'll go with both choices or two individual ones? Based on the examples I'd say your best bet would be to have two of them. I'd really like to see some bigger screenshots of these themes for a better idea though ![]() ~Peace DC

Ok, here's concept one for the dark skin. I've got a few more ideas, but have to run some errands here

One more thing. If that banner is in a table you can use the following image as a background for that cell to extend it the entire width of the table so it blends better

I see what you mean, but none of us are skilled enough with html to really get these included they way you suggest.
And, as you forecasted, the banner doesn't look quite right on the two light bluish skins. The purpose of asking for such a small banner was to have an ad the same size opposite the banner. Although we have it set up that way for 1024 X 768, it comes out as one above the other in 800x600. Does anyone else have a solution they can suggest? Or even better, would anyone here with the ability to work with html be willing to log into a temporary admin account to try and work it out? It should look like the pages do for the default blackish skin does when viewed at 1024x 768. |

I'd like to take a look at the code for the header template there
As far as the light skin banner, I'll see If I can come up with a different light version there. As far as the banner stacking issue, I'm guessing the cells need to be split into two columns on that one so they wont stack one above each other. The downside to this is that in 800x600 resolution you will have a little horizontal scrolling as a result. The reason for this is each banner is 468 pixels wide, totaling 936 px. Another solution would be to shrink the header image so that combined with a standard banner ad it will total 800 pixels and should not stack on you. At any rate, if you want to setup a temporary admin account and PM me the details on it, I'll go take a look and see if I can get the background in there and possibly split the cells. ~Peace DC
