Question Browsers

Currently I use MS Internet Explorer 6... but I keep hearing all these good things about Mozilla etc etc. So I downloaded and Tried Mozilla... and on my computer it ran ALOT slower then IE did... I dont get it. If its so much better, why is it so much slower??

hey try mozilla firebird if u go to mozilla.org then ull find it

And for mozilla being slower coz it is bulky it is not just a browser but hell it has inbuilt mail reader chat program composer and java script editor and debugger i guess

then hit this site for ne problems u have

firebird is much faster than both mozilla and IE in my experiences. DOnt forget to use the bookmarks that com with firebird to get some extensions or themes!

yep, firebird is a helofa fast browser... but i stick with IE cos it works well for me... to be honest, i dont see the gains that any browser has over IE except for Opera... true some have inbuilt pop up stoppers etc etc and lots of functions but if you just want a browser there aint nothing wrong with ie..

people just have a habit of bitching about Microsoft products... hey if it works, use it.. its a free market, shop around, you cant just go on the advise somebody tells you... Ive tried virtually all browesers out there and even made my own but IE still comes up top trumps!
my top 5

1.IE
2.MOZILLA
3.OPERA
4.SLIMBROWSER
5.NETSCAPE ( will have to remove this one soon, its too damn slow now!)

slimbrowser is another 'skin' for IE, so you can remove it safely from your list.

Kungfucious here is the thing....

Why does everything work in IE...

Well by including IE in the OS MS has ensured that over 90% of users who are on the net use IE...

So if u create a site that wont work with IE then well ull get fired by the person who hired u....

Now here i will give u links to two articles by the same person...

In the first article he rubbished Mozilla

Which is
http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articl...000000069.html

And here in a recent article he says that he had switched to well Mozilla
http://www.joelonsoftware.com/news/20030601.html

I sometimes get quite pushy abt things i feel strong abt

Sorry if I offend u

Security IS a problem with IE and it's nothing any patch is gonna fix...

As I said in a different post, Spybot and Window Washer have virtually NO work to do since I switched to FIREBIRD. No adware, no spyware, no sneaky cookies...

Firebird and mozilla are too slow to start up for me. With my older computer I notice it. A lot.
