You want to decrease the font-size on lower resolution screens? I would say there is no simple solution for that...

You make websites to fit 640x480 resolutions first. Try and make tables no wider than 600 pixels, and um, the icons? No idea.

this is a tough one, after all the hard work, the site only works best in a resolution >= 1024 x 768

as a general rule, design for the least common denominator, that is, use a resolution like 640 x 480 or 600 x 800, if followed your site will look best on both low and high resolutions...

i'd hate to say it but you'd have to start over...

If I were to start a brand new site, I'd be designing at 600 x 800. By this time, most ppl should have monitors and video cards capable of resolutions better than 640 x 480.

Most people are using 600 by 800 anyways, so that's where i start, aside from the fact that's what I use.

Then after I have the site looking good, I set my resolution to the big one and see how it looks there, make a few changes, and it's done.

just a tip- when designing tables use percentages for the widths- say you want a table with a tiled background image that goes across the screen no matter what- easy- 100% width- isntead of trying to compromise using pixels 8)
