Try to avoid realmedia if you can help it... That is a personal preference though stick to streaming through winamp or WMP

10 megs is quite a bit really.
Look at my site, Billy-Bob's. The entire site, all images, all pages, plus the few files I need to delete make up less then two megs, and there's quite a bit there.
Also remember that any page that takes more then 30 seconds to load on a 56K connection will most likely not be viewed because hardly anyone is willing to wait that long to see it unless it is truelly spectacular.
Good luck!

i agree on realmedia thing, not fun. also think about getting a free account on one of those free storage sites that offer around 100megs of space, good for music, and it can be linked too from your existing page

Uhmmm... you probably can't stream at all on your ISP's space. You can only offer an MP3 or WMA for download... but hey, MP3 is a standard, WMA some M$ piece of sh!t.
Anywayz, I suppose you will have to put some excerpts eventually in low quality on that site in order not to get problems with your ISP.

For a message board (like this) you will need PHP or another scripting language, which, if your ISP does not deliver it to you by default, will not be available to you... So no interactive things, at most some 'mail me' form which sends some mail to you.

php and mysql boards are best, tho if you cant find a mysql host as well, invision power board(flatfile version) is good as well.
phpbb.com is a good one aswell

if you can't do real-time streaming, why not do pseudo-streaming? this should be supported by your web-hosting service. as for message boards, you can always link to a free, remotely-hosted one.

let us know if you need more information on pseudo-streaming.
