Too Many Bridges to cross
For the past 3 years that I've owned my machine I've had a conflict between my Hercules Prophet 4000XT 64MB AGP video card and my PCI slots. Win2k Pro has decided to give me TWO PCI Standard PCI-PCI Bridges instead of one. One of these bridges is rightfully associated with the PCI slots and anything inserted into them. The other bridge has been connected to the AGP Video Card. ACPI management refuses to allow me to change the resource settings so I can correct the problem. The only way I can get decent video is to disable the bridge associated with PCI cards such as my Network Adapter. Otherwise video is as vgasave and not the correct driver for the Prophet. I've tried removing the NIC and uninstalling both bridges and rebooting the machine to no affect. I'm thinking the only way to solve the problem would be to purchase a more windoze compatible product such as an ATI card. What can be done other than that?
