Yes you have to download the test. It's clean. As far as I know it's the industry standard for testing your computers performance as far as gameplay and graphics are involved. There is a free version on the site that Dreamcaster linked.

I guess that you're using 3D Mark 2003. I use 3D Mark 2001 SE, I found it much better. But I'll download it, and see what score I get. nVidia cards are know to have pretty low scores with this 2003 version; this program isn't the best to test 3D, maybe it's better Aquamark.

XP, 64bit AMD 3200+, 1 gig, two raptors running SATA Raid0,and removable ATA backup,
Thermaltake, X III, Thermaltake power sup, ATI x800 xt.. and stuff like that. The onboard sound, may have drug my score down a bit, also my sorry assed 19 in. 3 year old monitor that I ran at 1024x768 for the test. Also, I ran "end it all" prior to the test.. to stop other apps from running. Oh ! score... 8722 <g> |

if you guys and gals are going to do this, which I think you should, maybe we could even devote a section to it, you should pick what screen resolution to do the test in, because using the same res for everyone will make the scores a little more fair, especially since screen res makes a big difference, I would say 1024x768 should be the standard.
