Albatron MX480EL GeForce4 MX440
I've decided to buy a video card and wanted some good advice.
I' like this one because I don't really have much money right now.I like this one I have some questions: 1.Is this company any good? 2.My mobo only has the older 4x agp. This is 8x cam you guys confirm that it will work? It should shouln't it? 3.I have a proprietary power supply 250W Emachines will I have any problems? Taht's all I can think for now...anything else I should worry about?

Since it's AGP x4/8 this is no problem. What you have to look at is the AGP voltage: 3v, 1,5v or 0,8v and if your mobo can supply the same votage.
However I would look at a FX5200, shouldn't be more expensive, and at least is DX9 compatible... It's underpowered to run DX9 games with DX9 features, but at least will benefit from modern drivers. |

What other devices do you have in your PC? You "should" be fine with that if you are only getting a new video card. Was everything else prepackaged what you got in the PC?

AGP Aperture is a parameter that you can modify in the BIOS. You usually set this to 1/4 of total memory up to a max of 256 MB. It's the maximum amount of system memory that the AGP system will map as video memory to load further textures and video data when you run out of video memory. Since modern video cards have plenty of memory seldom is it used.
Aida won't tell you AGP voltage. You find this information on the manual of the mobo, or the website of the mobo manufacturer. |
