new graphics card old system
my friends system is about a year old
1.8 p4 256mb ram 32mb geforce mx 220 (i think) he needs a new graphics card but doesnt want to buy a new motherbord etc i need 2 know can he put a new graphics card in to the old agp slot on his current mother board ? say a 128mb ddr ati 9600pro card ?? will this work or will he need to get a new mobo first ?? |

I think he'll be able to use R9600 - the worst that can happen is the card to work in 4x mode (it is 8x isn't it?). He won't be able to take the best of it that's all. If you can list his mobo too it will be great - then we'll know for sure.

That wont damage your card. Aas long as you dont get any static electricity cahges zapping it while you swap it out
