ATI Catalyst 3.8

As promised, yesterday ATI Released the Catalyst 3.8. This Catalyst version includes new features not found in previous versions like:

• New Control panel layout with Direct3D and OpenGL in one single tab,
• Ability to save Direct3D and OpenGL settings, so you can recall them faster with a drop-down list (not the expected per game profiles, but it's an improvement),
• Overdrive: For 9600XT and 9800XT this function automatically overclocks the card based on GPU temp (since all other cards don't have thermal diode, this feature is not available for them),
• VPU Recover: When the video card no longer responds because of a hardware hang, this feature resets the card without resetting the computer or application. It's supposed to avoid infinite loops, (if you had them.),
• Smartshader: Real time effects that can be applied to any game. Something like EAX can do with sound, now with video. Not really useful, just for fun.
