it depends on the laptop, some can be upgraded but most cannot
your best be is to visit the website of the manufacturers, may even be worth emailing thier support.

Most if not all "traditional" laptops have the video card integrated in the motherboard itself, so it can't be upgraded. There aren't any slots anyway (except PC Card, but it's not designed for fast video.)
