which card 2 use
If you have the money.. go for an FX.. but if you just want to get a card.. a TI 4200 or 4600 will be more than sufficient.
will getting a 4800 make a big difference compared to a 4200 ?? i am a big HL fan and need to have a card that will cope with Hl 2 and its mods comfortably at the highest graphic settings altough im not a hardcore gamer i would like to have a nice powerfull card as far as i know the 4200 will do this so would it be worth it getting a 4800 ?? |

I have a Ti4200 which was overclocked using a utility called Powerstrip. I easily got 4800 speeds out of the Ti4200 no sweat, and saved quite a bit of money

This really depends on what you play. If you value a 10% to 15% increase in 3D performance, the answer is yes, get the Ti4800. I would choose the Ti4800 unless you plan to upgrade for Christmas. The Ti4800 is more than enough for the games to come -HL2, Doom3- (if you don't use AA or AF.)
