TV out wires question

Hi !
Question:
I have a Gforce 4 with TV out, it came with the wire, it has a "super video" plug (i think its the name, it is kinda similar to the mouse plug) but my TV has a RCA input.
So how can i connect them, the thing is a have the super video wire AND a RCA one (from an old Gforce 2) so i`d like to join them (do you follow me?)
The super video wire has 4 wires inside: blue , white , brown and yellow.
The RCA wire has only two.
Is it possible to join them? , how should i go from 4 wires to only two?
Thanks!

If memory serves, the s-video uses digital encoding, whereas the 'RCA' jack is an analog conduit. I do not think it is possible to splice from one to the other - but I could be wrong

you can chop the wires and connect them but you wont get a good image....svideo is a digital transfer method where as rca is analog.. since the digital has some extra info being passed through the cable you will get an unequalised picture.. it may translate as 'snow' onscreen or an incorrect ballance of colour/brightness/hue/contrast.. OR all of them!

the thing u need is this:

If u are in the UK you can purchase from here (look under 'Use from PC to TV for Picture/Video
' ... its the last one in that section)

for any other country you can just search for 'svideo to rca adapter' under google!

hope that helps

As far as I know S-Video is still analog, but it has separated luminance and crominance signals, so you get better image quality. RCA is composite video, a signal containing both channels of information.

You can get cables to convert from S-Video to RCA in electronic stores. You can't do the opposite RCA to S-Vídeo without additional hardware, thought.
