wow, Seems like Nvidia has more problems than when I stopped using them 2 years ago. I switched to ATI and all these problems and the ones I was having that forced me to change have gone away.

Well, I have begun to view Nvidia in new light as well, seeing as their new drivers cheat on 3DMark03

I have always had ATIs. The reason being I like having a TV card. The drivers have always sucked, sometimes totally shanknig my machine!
But they have improved lately (the only place to go was up) and I am very happy with my Radeon 8500 A-I-W.

I still use and probably will use my GeForce4 TI 4200 for quite some time.. I do a lot of computer gaming.. and it has always performed wonderfully for me.. now I heard the latest card which was supposed to be the biggest and baddest by Nvidia isnt all what its cracekd up to be..
But I will still stick with the card I have for now.. I am satisfied and it does a good job.. I guess next time I upgrade I may have to consider ATI. *sighs* What a waste of great talent lost by nvidia.

I used Voodoo, ATI, and Nvidia...
Too bad Voodoo dropped out... 3dfx owned all, fast, dynamic, and pretty... second choice, Nvidia... fast cards, one driver fits all ATI cards I have used have compatibility issues, especially for the first 6 months, until better drivers are released.

I'll use any card that performs well for me. Up until about 1 year ago, I was still using my 3dfx 3500.
![]() Quote:
The Register "Both ATI and Nvidia have been found at various times to have rigged their drivers to give better benchmarks, particularly when they've felt themselves to have lost the performance lead, so it's hard to trust either of them. In any case, Nvidia fans will suspect ATI scores, and ATI buffs will equally distrust Nvidia benchmarks." But it does appear that nVidia was waaaay out there on this one. |

All I have ever owned is Nvidia. I have had some problems but you will have problems with everything at one time or another. I will be sticking with my card I have now the GeForce4 TI 4200 128mb DDR. I have had no problems with it at all and love the way it preforms on all my games. Alot of the games I play was meant to be played on the Nvidia cards so I will be with this card for awhile.

Nooooooooooo!!!! DO NOT upgrade to the 5600/5800 they have problems... not to mention 'dustbuster' fans. Go with the 5900, no loud fan and all the problems with the 5600/5800 BIOSes are fixed (supposedly)

The GeForce FX5600 doesn't have the FX Flow cooler that the 5800FX has. It has standard coolers, as any GeForce4 Ti4800 or 4600
.Of course I would prefer a 5900, but you can get a FX5600 for ~180 € while the FX5900 isn't cheaper than 350€ (and you can't find them yet). Oh, the FX5900 cooling system is so big that you can't still use the slot next to the AGP (I don't use it anyway, but). |
