This is copy pasted from the Boston site:
Quote:
Q. I’m having problems using the Digital BA735 with non-digital sound cards. Why?
A. The Digital BA735 is a digital only system, and requires a properly set up digital sound card. For assistance in sound card set up, please contact your soundcard or computer manufacturer. If you do not have a digital card, these manufacturers can also recommend a digital card upgrade to based on your computer model and needs.
They also say that the speakers themselves do not require any special drivers to work properly. And that the card should have proper drivers obtained. And probably configured for using the digital output too.

p.s. Oh and Welcome to PCTT

thanx for the welcoming. the thing is, the dynex is a digital sound card, but i think it might have something to do w/ the speakers not being capatible w/ an HP computer because on the Boston site it always mentions Gateway...

Impossible. Speakers do get their sound from the soundcard not from HP or anything. So this looks like a sound card issue. Boston mentiones Gateway as a certified partner or kind of hidden advertisement... Nothing else I think.

Weird.... can you now try your speakers with another card. Just to make sure everything is working. I just can't get it... OK, best of luck.

I don't think so. Just proper sound card drivers must be enough...
