connection questions

Howdy all,

I'm building a new computer (1st time) and just installed a sound blaster live 5.1 sound card.

My questions are:

The mobo came witha riser card for the game port. The sound card also has a game port. Will both run together? (will be running Win XP)

Also, I've got my master cd drive plugged into the cd in port on the card. Is it possible to plug the secondary cd drive into the aux port on the card? I would like both drives capable of producing sound.

Thanks for the help.

Well as for the gameport, the gameport on your sound card that you are installing should be the only working one due to having to turn off onboard sound in the bios for the motherboard, if you don't turn it off you will more then likely have driver conflicts and possible irq resource conflicts.

As for the cd cable that goes to the sound card, I'm not 100% sure but I don't think this cable needs to be plugged in at all to have sound from the cdrom drive, unless it is needed for the headphones to work.
