PC sound Problems
As of this morning when I was using the computer anything audio related sounded like garbage. The audio was echoey and sounded like i was running a stream on Dialup. I tried to diag the problem. I have an Onboard audio on my Intel 945PSN board as well as a Creative Audigy 4 Card. The Audigy was the initial output for my sound. I thought the card might have gone so i switched over to the onboard sound. The poor sound quality continued. The next thing i figured was maybe my headset that i was using had crapped out on me. So i switched the sound out through my Reciever. That also did no solve the problem. Some things i did realize though is when i rebooted my PC with the reciever on whenever a sound file played either the windows logon sound or AOL instant messanger IM the reciever reset itself similar to the effects of a surge. This happened using either sound output on my PC. I for the life of me cannot figure out why i am getting such lousy sound. I also ran Spyware, and anti virus scans, disabled any services and startup processes i didnt need. Help me.

It could be a few things...you've already gone through some..you rebooted..did nothing.
you checked the plug from speakers to computer..I hope. (I have a problem with mine & that is the fix..I play an MP3 & wiggle the plug at the computer side till it comes back..only happens when I move a cable in the back..otherwise all is good)...back to you...did you happen to install 'Total Recorder'..this will change all the sounds in your system by using their kernel..and that sucks. Also...did you install any program around the time this started..?? Have you tried doing a System Restore..?? Did you go into Control Panel/Sound Devices & check that you have the right device in the window...if not..use the dropdown to set it. |
