unpacking rar files

So i downloaded this movie,all in little parts as rar files,have done this before and used winrar to unpack them,no problemo !

But from this movie i'm missing 2 files,r02 and r03,no par files there,so if i start unpacking it says:"need part 02 to continue"
Is there a way to unpack the rest of the files so that i can see the movie,with a little bit missing
Can anyone help ?

Wobbel.. I dont think you can unpack them when missing files. WinRar works a little differently when you pack things.. it has a structure to it. I believe that once you have packed it up in WinRar.. it cannot unpack wihtout the entire structure of files.

now I might be wrong.. maybe someoen else knows of a way to get past that.. but you might be out of luck

Well, in theory you should be able to fix the missing files.
(read how the newsgroups and .rar files work at www.slyck.com -- they have a good explination. Unfortunately when they have been prepacked I don't know where you would pick up the extra files. (maybe just duplicate one of the rar files and rename it to the missing number???, sounds like something to try for the hell of it...)

Don't really know if this will help you figure something out..but hey, at least it is now fairly easy to understand.

Finaly got that movie complete,someone reposted the missing parts.

It's not possible to "unpack" a rarfiled movie if some parts or even one are missing (as already said by Cirga)
The only way to reconstruct is if you have some par files and use something like smartpar.
