Popup window is blank

I'm not sure if this is totally a browser issue. The town that I live in has a website and I update certain information to the site and approve submissions to show up on our calendar. The problem is that when I click on a link to view what was submitted for our calendar, a window is suppose to pop up so that I can read what is being submitted. The problems is that the window pops up but the contents is totally blank. I suspected that it was a website issue, but at our last meeting we logged onto the site with a laptop and the person with the laptop was able to view the contents in the popup window without any problem. So, it seems that it must be a setting on my own computer that needs to be adjusted. I want to mention that I do get popup windows that are NOT blank when surfing the internet, so other popup windows seem to work fine.

I have tried shutting down (disabling) my norton security but that did not resolve the problem. I recently had another issue (posted recently in this software forum) that was resolved by resetting my internet options, security, privacy and advanced tabs back to the default settings. I was excited when that issue was resolved because I thought that it may have taken care of this other issue as well. Unfortunately, those changes did not resolve the blank popup windows.

I don't know where else to check or make changes. If anyone has an idea for me to try, please let me know. Sometimes the problem is hiding in plain sight.
Thank you in advance,
kk

Does the popup require anything special? ActiveX permissions maybe? Usually I try a few different browsers (i.e Firefox or Opera) to see if the error is consistent. Has it ever worked?

I downloaded Firefox to try to see if it would resolve the blank popup but I was unable to view the contents of the window using Firefox as well. My volunteer duties with our town changed a few months ago, so approving calendar events on our town site is new to me since about February. I have not been able to view the submissions at all, but the person that used to do this task had no problems at all. I will check the "activex" settings and test it out as I make any changes. Thanks for the input.

If it is just this Website & you can view it fine from the computer you used at your meeting...
It sounds like maybe you have to have something installed on your to view...
The only thing I can think of that might do this is..Java or PDF...or Flash...

Thanks for your help all. However, my computer crashed last week after a storm and losing power. It's not been right since and as of today, 5/25 it has refused to boot up. I have a funny feeling that the hard drive had been going but I never picked up on the symptoms. It was shutting down about once a week but for some reason I kept thinking that it was one of those automatic updates that required the computer to reboot after the update. Anyhoo.... I'm sure my problems will be resolved with a new computer. Thank you for time that was spent trying to help me.

I'm not sure if this is proper but where is the best place to post recommendations on a new computer?
Kathy

This may sound crazy..but you can get a decent one at Walmart..I bought my HP for about $300 less than I should have..cause they were switching brands..now they switched back to HP..as for Laptops..I don't own one..but my friend & her nighbors got there laptops from Walmarts Midnight to 2am sale...$99..Wireless included.
Some deals are Online Only..but you best bet is to just walk in the store & see what they are trying to push out
