MSIE Version 6.0

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post. My problem is with Windows Internet Explorer 6.0. When I click the "search" button, the left side column becomes the space to enter what I'm searching for. When I get the results, it lists a series of url links to take me to different websites. However, when I click on any of the links, they do not function like a link and the link does not take you anywhere. If I right click the link, I can choose "open in new window" and that seems to work fine. Links on all other websites work fine, it's just in the search feature where they seem to be disabled. Where do I go to check into this link issue?
Thanks in advance for any help.
kk

PS: I did upgrade to the next version 7 but didn't like it so uninstalled it bringing it back to the previous version 6. I'm now wondering if that messed up somthing. If so, can I reinstall version 6 right over the present one to fix any issues?

Have you tried resetting clearing all the cache and restoring the default settings under the Advanced tab of the Internet Options? You can find it under: (Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Restore Defaults)

Thank you so much! I had already gone in and changed Tools/internet options/privacy settings to the default setting but that didn't fix it. I went to the advanced and reset to the default settings, but that didn't seem to change anything either. However, I decided to go to the security tab and reset to the default and that change made a difference and corrected the problem. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
