Resize NTFS Partition - Help Needed!!!
I am mirroring a 20GB to an 80GB Hard Drive. I've tried Ghost and HDClone and a few others. The Hard Drive is going into an IBM ThinkPad T30. If I run Ghost 2003 (8.0) the 80GB does not boot in the ThinkPad. If I use HDClone and do a 1-to-1 clone, it boots perfectly, except it doesn't resize the partitions. The hard drive has 2 partitions, 1 is the NTFS partition, and the other is the IBM_Tools partition. I can use a program like linux, GParted, to move the IBM_tools partition to the end of the drive, but I still can't get the NTFS partition to resize to rest of the drive (approx 74GB). Now the NTFS partition is currently only 16GB.
Any suggestions??? Tim |

Partition magic is what you need, its not free but its a wonderful bit of software.
one bit of advice though, when you come to resize your partition, lock your pc away in a room once you start and go out for the day, as this program can take A LONG LONG time to finish resizine, and its all too tempting to think its failed after a few hours and junk yor hard drive by rebooting, saying that 16gb to 74 gb shouldnt take more than a few hours ![]() your other option is to forget about a resize and just create an NTFS partition in the free space, you can always install the majority of program files there is your running out of room, even transfer your my documents folder to it if you need to.
