Smile Portable Apps: Your programs and files wherever you go without messy installation

I've recently discovered Portable Apps. Portable Apps are programs like any other desktop program but built in a way that need no installation program nor do store anything on the host computer. The installation is as simple as download and unpack, that's it.

The beauty of those applications is that you can store them on a USB memory or any portable memory and use your programs wherever you go without messing the host computer with registry data, dlls, etc. Bring your Firefox browser with you along with your bookmarks, history of pages visited, etc. Or bring OpenOffice with you so you can work with your spread-sheets or documents at work or on your friend's computer.

It's very cool, give it a try! I have a small 8 GB USB memory wich houses Portable Firefox and Portable OpenOffice 2.0. More applications are to come in this form, and all free!

BTW, I'm writting this with Portable Firefox .
