Ello Nimbus,
Your best option is RealAlternative.. The download site says this about it: _____________________________ Real Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files without having to install RealPlayer/RealOne Player. You do need a player that is capable of playing RealMedia. The included Media Player Cl***ic supports it and works very well. Supported: RealAudio (.ra .rpm), RealMedia (.rm .ram .rmvb .rpx .smi .smil), RealText (.rt), ReadPix (.rp), RealMedia embedded in webpages. .smi and .smil files sometimes only play the first part of a clip. This is a limitation of the current Media Player Cl***ic. The RealMedia Browser plugin supports Internet Explorer, Opera, Netscape and Mozilla. Features of Real Alternative 1.27 Final : - Media Player Cl***ic [version 6.4.8.2] - RealMedia Codecs [version 6.0.12.1053] - RealMedia DirectShow splitter [version 1.0.0.9] - RealMedia plugin for Internet Explorer - RealMedia plugin for Opera/Mozilla/Netscape - Bandwidth settings tool Changes from Real Alternative 1.26 to Real Alternative 1.27 : - Fixed uninstall bug - Updated RealMedia codecs to 6.0.12.1053 - Updated RealMedia Browser plugin to 6.0.12.1053 - Fixed the volume problem - Improved the DirectX related settings for Media Player Cl***ic - Minor fixes and improvements ________________________ Download it Here |

I've heard that Windows Media player now has plugins that allow it to play realmedia files and quicktime files....since most people have WMP, I would think that less software=less crap installed=longer before you need to format to keep sanity (***uming you still have it)

If you know where to get the Quicktime plugin, please post a link! I am really tired of the "Upgrade to Pro" pop up every time that I open the Quicktime Player
My digicam records video in QT so I have to use it, at least until I convert them to AVI (DivX/MP3). |

I think that I read that info about the plugins when I was reading about Firefox and somehow thought it was for WMP instead...I googled for a while and didn't find anything. Sorry about that
. If they did exist, they would probably be here: http://www.wmplugins.com/ |

Nope, searching for "Quicktime" does not get a plug-in to watch QT movies
. Thanks anyway. |
