ok, maybe it's totally not related and won't help you at all....
I've had ZApro running before i got my new ethernet modem, wich came with a build in firewall. After i had installed my new modem, ZA wouldn't let me onto the i-net, no matter what i tried. In the end i just deleted ZA, and rely on my hardware fw now, the only thing i miss are the logs. Guess it had something to do with my 'internall' ip, couldn't get that right in ZA. |

Although I have seen the benefits from ZoneAlarm I can only say that cons out wieght the pros. The firewall is far to paranoid.l Your best bet would be to get a router or any other piece of hardware that has a built in firewall. You will get far better results and much supieror security. All the best.

Pasty, seems you got the same setup as me now. You at best set ZA's security settings to low, because it doesn't have to protect you anymore. The only use it has now is that it checks for each application if it's allowed to contact it's mother ship...

Yup... you have to turn the firewall down to low.. otherwise it will even block network printers. (foudn that out here at my office).

Hey all bit a development... its actually not Zone Alarm that is the problem here for the ftp access its the stupid net connection firewall! Ive found if i add the "port forward" to it it allows that. HOWEVER this didnt solve my internet prob this was definatley ZA so i fiddled
and ive dun it, heres wot u do for any1 interested:Go to the internet zone set it to high and click on custom, then tick the "Allow DNS" bit scroll down to the bottom of that section and tick "Allow outgoing TCP ports" type in 80 and bobs ur uncle! the net is now shared and ur computer is still nice and secure on the internet
