is ANYBODY Else experiencing Lockups/bluescreens from the Truevector engine (in XP)

This problem just keeps popping up and will not go away, so I was wondering if any one else is having this problem.
It has occured on 3 different machines (all running upto date XP, All running Athlons, All running DDR Ram, All have DIFFERENT MOBOS)

Getting either frequent (once every 3-4 days) lockups or Blue Screens. When you look at the EventViewer you can see that appearently the TRUEVECTOR ENGINE (part of ZoneALarm) is the cause.

I cannot find anything on the ZA website that talks about this.

Does anyone else experience this??
When I uninstall ZA then the truevector engine is also uninstalled and the problem goes away. Damn shame, cause I really like ZA.

Just wondering how many of you have had "problems" with the TRUEVECTOR engine.

I've been using ZAPro for 2 months already (used Agnitum Outpost before) with WXP and never saw the problem. Check the other launched proggys for a conflict,
or use the latest version or see the settings(although I think it's not them).
It's not a PC problem - I'm pretty sure. My PC is Duron 750 Mhz, 384 MB SDRAM. It should be software.

P.S. Yuk what a lamah advice. Sorry Dad. I'm just trying to help (But who am I to help Dad):o

LOL..No sweat, I appreciate the consideration and your taking time to give feedback.

with one computer I figured I had a hardware/memory conflict or something, but with all three computers...something is not quite right.
It is probably something I have set up wrong. Oh well. Just have to see if anyone else has the same experience.

ZAPro F***ed up my WinXP pc :yell installed it and wham! My machine freezed in startup ( something about windows shutting down to avoid hardware damage??? ). I had to use diagnostics mode (F8 when booting) to clear my system. Note that this was first time in nine years I had to use F8 booting:mad BTW. It also cleared most of proggies away from the control panel/uninstall window - software is still installed I just can't uninstall it normally :?

I now use Sygate, and I am very happy

I did un-install ZAPlus & 3 days later got a freeze with Sygate installed..that wasn't the problem ...Event Viewer was BLANK.
So that got me thinking that TR only shows up, because it was running, as needed for ZA. I like ZA better, so I went back to it (still have Sygate also).
I've posted on NTFS but to no avail.
I would like to find out what is doing this also..seems to happen every 2-3 of uptime, so know I re-boot every morning, but sometimes it happens anyway...sometimes back to back, that sucks (it will freeze again in about 15 min).

It is funny how when I started having problems with AVIs, you didn't, than you did..now this

I am curious about it being my Cable Connection or Style XP...any thought on this?

yes iv been geting lock up ALOT as well with this Truevector engine thing

athlon cpu
pc-133-sdram
VIA mobo
XPpro upto date

but i also noticed that it was only locking up when i was running emule plus tryed lots of other programs just to make sure and all ran fine, so i just reinstalled that over the top and it seems to have fixed it - well iv not had any lock ups over the last 3 days anyway

I will get to the bottom of this, be it truevector, ZA, memory settings..whatever. (actually I have been looking for the last 6 months or so).

I get similar problems. I'm using ZA pro 3.7.159 and the true vector engine will lock up and or crash. What happens is I will be browsing the web and all of a sudden TVE will consume 90+% CPU and the site freezes. I have to then close ZA and restart it. It has got better when I upgraded to the 159 build as it seems to only happen a few times a week now. Before it was several times a day. ZA seems to be getting worse

Have had some problems with the truevector deamon as well. Running W2K on several boxes, and I don't know what's the glitch but once it is installed correctly it is solid as a rock, but before you get it to that point... I always install it first thing after the OS is installed and servicepacks are applied. I never liked ZA 3 (it ****ed up my whole W2K machine, so I sticked with 2.6.362 Pro.

I guess I'm not realy helpful with this, but okay, is your XP 'firewall' disabled? Is your network adapter configured 'doubtfree'? Have you tried removing and adding it? Is there running any other software which uses the network adapter in any way, or any form (like sniffers, bandwith meters, etc.)?

When I went to Cable..2.6 wouldn't work anymore, it kept needing a reinstall after every reboot...hated 3 Pro, thats why I went to 3 Plus..but like I said above, even with ZA uninstalled, it still froze...and the Event Viewer was blank.

After checking the zonelabs forums there seems to be a problem with the vsmon installed with some of the 3.7 builds. They suggest people that are experiencing problems download an earlier build until they can isolate the problem.

I recently repaired my WinXP and haven't had any problems with it since.

I went back to 3.0..didn't make a difference for me..thats the one it all started with..noe up to 3.7.159...I don't believe it is ZA.
