Ive just bought a fan for my comp, its only a cheapy one but i was wondering how im going to connect it. This is first time building some im not sure whether i need to do it on the mobo or throught he psu. If its through the PSU do i need a splitter or something.

See the Fan connector - if it's with 3 PINs and small then it's connected to the MB. If it is 4 PIN Big then it's to the PSU directly. Most of the cheaper fans connect to the MB direct. U have to look on your MB for the FAN sign on it. It only connects in one way. The more expensive fans have regulators for revolutions and connect (sometimes) to the PSU also. I guess yours should be the first type. 3 way connector small one. Good luck. Cheers

You dont have any extra molex connectors on you PSU anymore? It can be any connection that only has 4 pins coming from the PSU.. or you can also check the other fans in your case. They normally come with an extra connector so you can chain link all your fans if you need to.

What kind of PSU is it?

The reason the fan has "two" is because it has a male and female connector. This makes it so you can connect another fan to this fan and chain connect them all that way if you wanted.

On the picture you posted.. take any connector from there that will fit into the fan plug and that will work. Only one of the two on the fan will be able to connect to the PSU. Should be a male connector that you plug into the PSU. The female connector on the fan is for another fan to hook to.

The best part about posting here is.. if there is anything we can suggest to help spruce things up we can help you do it. Look forward to the pics mate And dont worry about if its the best or not.. we all have to start somewhere. I know my first build wasnt anything spectacular.. just takes some good feedback and a bit of fun
