HEY EVERYONE!
Ive always used Intel for my work and home PCs. Some of my friends have an Athlon but they all seem to have the same problem: Overheating. Without some of the latest technolagy in cooling systems thier processors have been prone to blow. I recomend everyone to stay with Intel. |

Well, I had an Intel Celeron 400 for the longest time...but this time around I got an AMD 2400+...and love it. The celeron was fast at the time, and the AMD is fast now. I'm one of those people that gets as much quality for the lowest cost...meaning, for now, AMD processors.

I'm with you. If they weren't cheaper I think people would get really upset when they fried em. I live in a very hot climate and the people I know who run AMD worry constantly about the temps. I mean it seems like they can't go ten minutes without checking. Too much worry. That just ain't my style......... |

oh cool. When I posted this last night it didn't quite go through (the whole site went down for half an hour or so...) I didn't think this poll made it through!
As for chip not being the approrpriate word, it isn't that far off if you know what I'm talking about. Subconsciously I used the word chip because I wanted to make the third choice Frito Lay - but decided that in the true spirit of science I would just this once NOT be complete smartass. I'm down with the AMD. I like the fact that I don't see their advertisements on TV all the time. I don't like that I've already lost one processor to thermal failure... But the procs are cheap enough that you can replace them once a year and still spend less overall than you would on a pentium. Or you can just pony up the bucks on a decent fan.

The price difference is worth. I don't even have to warm my room in the winter
j/k. AMD has some advantages Intel will never have. For the price you will get an Intel 2 GHz for example you will receive double speeds from AMD (not sure for the exact prices though). Even with small disadvantages like overheating and less efficiency.
