PC Problem - No Signal & Shuts Down

Please read the whole post as the obvious causes have hopefully been addressed.

My old PC started to display a message "no signal" and then proceeded to shut down displaying another message "Windows in preparing to shut down". It could do this in quick succession many times. So I took it for repair and it was deemed to be the graphics card. The card was replaced and worked well in the repair shop. But at home it started ok, remained on for an hour or so then the same problem happened again.

So the shop made the offer to take the value of the repair off a new computer. I purchased a new computer minus the screen, keyboard & mouse. But once home the same thing happened. It worked well for a while then started shutting down.

Again I took it back to the shop and they tested it over 2 days leaving it running. It worked fine in their shop.

I picked up the computer and for good measure I bougth a new screen. When back at home the same thing occured with the new screen. The shop suggested it might be a power supply issue. I have had the power checked and the right voltage is available at the plug.

I am now seem to have run out of options. It is strange the new machine is doing the same thing as the old machine.

When the new machine was built, data was copied from the old to the new computer.

Any help is appreciated. Does anyone have any ideas?

Many Thanks

Paul
