Need Help with Irc through Trillian

Hi--
Been trying to configure my Trillian Pro to work with IRC so I could get into the pctechtalk room and am having a terrible time!! Lion has been helping me over the phone, in additon to the links I have receibved from Fluffyfluff and the instructions posted earlier by Ms. LadyLaughs. I was running mIRC and was able to get into a few rooms, mainly efnet and some prison one, well not rooms but channels, never could get as far as the rooms. It weemed like I could see them, but they never could see or hear me. I just got alot of Ping! Pong! type stuff happening.
A few months ago, when I originally got mIRC, I was able to get into the extremetopics room and the unitethecows room.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm on XP Pro on this computer running Trillian Pro ver 2.013. The Trillian will connect to Yahoo so I don't believe it is the software. I am running through a dLink router that doubles as a firewall and is networked to an XP Home and 2 other computers. This doesn't seem to be an issue since it is so close to the moden it thinks it's the #1 and only computer. 2 gigs ram 60 int and 50 ext hd, all that stuff. so I don't think it's the computer.
Any suggestions.
I can dl and upload through the dlink. with port 6667, or I guess that's the one it is using.

Hi Sepia,

Trillian > Connection Manager > Medium = IRC
> Personal Information (tab): Servername = irc.p2pchat.net > Port = 6667 > Your nickname, etc
> Perform Buffer (tab) : check box 'On connection perform these commands > /msg nickserv identify (your password w/o brackets)/join #pctechtalk.com

I have mine 'set on all servers in group'.
