Newbie to Forum and First time builder

I am thinking of building my own system and have a few thoughts on components I want to use:

Motherboard:

ABIT AG8 Motherboard
(Pentium 4 w/ HT Technology, Socket 775, Intel 915P, ATX, 4GB DDR, 800MHz FSB

Processor:

Intel Pentium 4 630 w/ HT Technology - 3.0GHz Processor
(3.0GHz, 2MB, 800MHz FSB, Socket 775)

Graphics Card:

XFX GeForce 7800 GT Video Card
(256MB, PCI Express x16, Dual DVI, VIVO)

Sound Card:
Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic

Memory:
Geil 1 GB PC3200 DDR Ultra Value Dual Channel DIMM

Powersupply:
XG VORTEC PSVO-500 ATX 500W

Any thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated as well as any advice for a first time builder. I used to repair photo machines in the past and have a fair amount of experience at replacing components including, boards, chips, hard drives, memory, sound and video cards as well as all the other fun stuff you could think of in a photo machine. My weakness is software. I'm not afraid to tackle anything and besides saving a few bucks I thing it would be a rewarding challenge in more ways than one.

sounds like an awesome system i will take one also if your building. To me everything sounds good and if you have questions while putting it together just post them up and we will try to help you out.

Just out of interest, what will you be using the PC for?

I'll be using it for photo editing, video editing and gaming. I also plan to get an ASUS MB P5WD2 Premium mobo along with two WD Raptor HD's and Kingston HyperX 1GB RAM in place of what I stated earlier. I hope the mobo leaves me room for expansion in the future so that I can keep up with technology for at least a few years without replacing all the components at once. Any further thoughts....?
