New Computer
I am in the process of buying a new computer and i want to be able to customize it completely to my liking. I have look at alienware and dell and was impressed with alienwares site because i could customize pretty much everything i wanted. Now my questions are, what are your views on alienware, i have heard good things and bad things , i seemed to think they were a bit pricey but i may be dumb. now dell i hear is a nice company. I currently own a Sony Vaio and am happy with it. And if anyone else knows some more sites like alienware , where i can customize everything to what i want please let me know thank you very much.

Alienware is AWESOME. They are very expensive, but worth the extra cash. The support is the best in the business, the customization options even down to the applications and OS are limitless and the quality of their components are second to none. I have 3 friends that will buy nothing but alien boxes and are extremely happy.
They also do free upgrades. I don't know the details, but it is a killer deal. The thing is, if you are truly a computer god in your understanding of every little detail about every component including new stuff that comes out, then an Alien box might not be for you. However, even then, an Alien box will simply save you a ton of headaches. If you want to compare them to someone else, then FALCON is your only other option that can be compared to Alien. Falcon is a little cheaper, but Alien has the best support and knows hardcore gaming systmes like no other. My next computer WILL be from Alienware. |

If you have the $$$$$$$ then Alienware really is your best choice.
They have a program where you send your puter back later on and they will upgrade/reinstall newer equip for the cost of the equip.

alienware boxes are super nice and ultra cool. looking at the core of their systems, you'll find parts that you can purchase separately and configure a similar system for less money. the only thing missing would be the alienware logo...

I have even seen Voodoo has a high end gaming system out now. They are roughly the same price as the Alien and Falcon. I have never seen one run up close. You may want to read up on them. Tech T.V. did a speicial on top 5 gaming Pc's and they were #2. The new Dell, Alien,Falcon, Voodoo where just four of the top 5. I can not remmeber what the the other was.

Is there a particular budget your looking to stick to?
You might want to consider on the of PCFX systems, just google for the url. I believe there stateside and being the first company in the world to ship configurable opteron systems there worth a look in. ![]() The leviathan 3 system on there site can be configured in either choice of Pentium 4, AMP XP, or AMD Opteron, with what looks like all parts customisable.
