What I have planned...
Well what started me off was seeing the case review that Extensiontech.net did. (one of our affiliates.) If you havent seen the new case.. take a look here:
http://www.pctechtalk.com/view.php?id=260 You can link from there. I plan on geting that case.. I really like it and it comes with some UV lighting which I think is really awesome. All I really need is a new Motheboard, CPU, and Ram.. which I already have a pretty good idea about what I am getting in that regard... But.. cant decide on a few things. is a 430wtt power supply going to be good enough do you think? Also.. with the way the case is designed on the link above.. is there something extra I need to addin for cooling and air flow? If I do go AMD I will want to make sure my case is really good at keeping things cool.. and thats a concern for me. And. of course if anyone has any suggestions on other mods I could add to that case I would love to hear

the 430w should cover most all of your needs, unless you are planning on filling all of those bays with harddrives.
(I have 4 harddrives running on my 350w without problem-- my next build will have a 450w) That is a Very nice case Cirga....You would be hard-pressed to find a better deal than that. For MY next case: Thermaltake Xaser III V1000D Chassis, 12-Bay Although it IS $168.. Probably the Last case I will buy. (yeah, right!!) you can also get a steel version (HEAVY but Beautiful) at Jab-tech: http://www.jab-tech.com/product_info...roducts_id=386 Here is the BEST Processor buy I have found at the moment: On Sale! AMD ATHLON XP 2500 "Barton" 333 FSB PROCESSOR CPU- RETAIL Specifications: CPU: 1.83 GHz Type: XP 2500 Barton Core Cache: 512K L2, 128K L1, Total 640KB BUS: 333MHz Socket A Retail Box (Heatsink and Fan included) Model#: AXDA2500BOX Reviews From Tomshardware.com Special Free FedEx Saver Shipping $138...The bummer is that at this price you can ONLY buy 5 Link

I was going to get a silver XaserIII myself but then decided it would be more fun to make my Lian Li PC82 into a modded monster...
...He he. Just wait till you guys see what I have planned. Also a brand name 400watt or above PSU will be just fine. I've found that the quality is just as important as the wattage. I'm currently running an Enermax 365watt with no probs.

That second case you posted looks really really nice..
![]() The first one I would be worried about purchasing.. but only because its already modified so much.. would be tough to mod it more you know? Anyhow.. its exciting!

Antec power supplies are very nice but antec don't make them they just stick there badge on them.. I forget the manufacturers name but I know they sell for $25 less than antec and its the exact same thing.. (I should be stocking Antec True blue PSU's in a matter of weeks)
Xaser III is absoultley sweet as hell... There is very little modding you can do to it but as a case it will last forever... The thing weighs in at 44lb for the steel one ! Enermax has the exact same case as the thermaltake without the window (window is an option) I believe its retails around $85 - $90 (steel only). Chieftec/Chenming cases are all great but now they are like fords/dodges (almost everyone has one) If I was to recommend a PSU I would definitly get an Enermax.. My EG 465P FC is the best PSU I have owned and can take anything I throw at it and more. Newegg are good but they aren't great... They have a great return policy but try getting technical support ! |
