Which Nforce 2 mobo?

Howdy y'all,

I am currently in the market for a mobo. Being an amd addicted individual, Nforce 2 is the only chipset for me... I have pretty much decided on an EPOX - either the 8RDA+ (because of the cool looking heatsink on the mobo and it is OC friendly), or the 8RGA (because it has the built in geforce 4 - which is better than my current geforce 2 card). I'd like to hear what people have experienced with these and other Nforce 2 boards - be persuasive or dissuasive as the case merits.

Did the board rock your world, or did it leave you feeling used and ashamed.

Throw out some pro / con stuff.

Thanks,
al

Read this thread discussing the Asus A7N8X Deluxe (nForce2) for more information about current issues of the nForce2 chipset.

I don't know about this board, but the nForce2 chipset has some important issues, where the worst one could kill the BIOS (so the mobo would not work at all). Newer BIOS have been able to fix most problems, but anyway be careful. You may want to go to nforcershq to see what problems people has with this chipset, and also I always recommend going to the forums of the manufaturer and see what people are saying.

Don't get me wrong, I have a nForce2 mobo (and a nForce1, too) and I prefer this chipset over Via or Sis. Just be sure to update to the latest BIOS before doing anything else (even changing BIOS parameters), and the change one parameter at the time, choose save and choose exit. Until I see clear confirmation that the BIOS problem has been fixed, this is the safest way.
