Fans?

O.k. so my new system is awesome and i love it. The only thing is once it has booted up completely and is running it sounds like a jet is taking off. I have a basic 80 mm fan on the CPU and i know AMD are more loud then Intel but damn thing is driving me nuts. Does anyone have any suggestions for me. Also, i have 5 other case fans running but they are pretty quit. May be i should have bought another fan ahead of time.

Thanks

Lion7718 will become famous soon enough
My Fan on my HP does that sometimes, I used to bang on the top of the case to make it stop..now I just ignore it..it comes & goes on Bootup.

Try installing a speed controller for your fans. You can find them to fit into a 5 1/4 or 3 1/2 drive bay. That wat when you're not gaming you can lower your noise output. Also, check to see if the fans you have are ball bearing that can make a slight difference.

Berks, What Heatsink/fan combo are you using??? what is your processor running at. (and what idle temp are you running currently??)

I have a thermalright with a nice quiet 80mm fan

What are the specs for your fan ??

I am pretty sure we can get you fixed up and quiet.

I just recently replaced my cpu fan/cooling unit with a silent one, cost me $20,and makes a whole lot less noise.
It's a Spire whisperrock3,and it's for amd.(up to xp2600)
The next thing i'm going to replace is my powerunit (can't find the correct word :? ) those fans are making a whole lot of noise,i've seen/heard some nice quiet antec ones.

Yes, Antec fans are quiet. I have an Antec True Power 430w psu (made to be quiet ), a Vantec fan (forgot, it's the new one) that's quiet and 3 Antec case fans.
