How many of you are overclocked?
How many of you have overclocked any part of your PCs? And which ones. Please share your achievements.
I've only overclocked my Duron 750 to 900 Mhz with an old GigaByte 7ZXE Mobo |

Thanks for resurecting this thread. I now see I have forgot to mention the o/c of my video (Riva TNT2 m64 - yeah old but not enough money to think for another upgrade) - running to 150/150 (125/135 default) with a custom made RAM heatsinks and cooler. It had an approximate 13-15% performance increase. Haven't tried more (but have heard that at least 170/175 is possible with this card).

How dangerous is it to overclock? I have a Latitude at 900mhz which I'd love to overclock to at least 1.+ mhz.

Main thing is to watch the heat on them and if you have to do it manually watch the voltage. I would not suggest doing it manually till you know how everything works. The easiest way to overclock something is in the bios. Just run the clock speed up and run the FSB up as well.

I could see how seven degrees could make all the difference but just look at it... It's a friggin' monster. I mean that thing is HUGE!!!
Stop looking at her and keep reading. In all honesty, a cooler that size is just gaudy. Now, when you consider how much hotter the upper range AMD's and INTEL's run when they are overclocked. I don't think it would be able to keep up. when you consider that you're spending one third the cost of a low end-water cooling kit I'd go with the water cooling simply because of the stability across high temp frequencies, and it's ability to be upgraded piece by piece if you needed to. Technobeast, were you talking to me when you said thank you for reviving this thread? Because I don't know if you were talking about the overclocking section of the forum or this thread that we are in right now. NEWay later. OH... what the hell, eh. Just to do it again...

I can get my 1.833ghz barton 333 up over 2ghz, below 60 degrees C, and 100% stable after 72 hours of continual torture tests.
