Arrow AthlonXP 2600+ (Barton)

Hey guys Ive got my Athlon XP 2600+ (Barton core) running at AthlonXP 3000+ speed (fsb at 190 [380MHz] vs. 166 [333Mhz])

Im simply using a Volcano 11+ and I seem to get almost NO increase in heat whatso ever. (original idle @ 48degrees C, oc'ed idle@ 49 degrees)

My mother board is a GIGABYTE GA-7N400V-L running 2x256MB DDR400 ram (@dual channel) which themselves are running at 380MHz at the moment.

Someone explain how Im getting away with this?

Also when I try to push fsb to 200Mhz (400Mhz) WinXP fails to begin booting. (goes through POST screen no problem)
why would this be? I havnt changed any voltages mind u though i think motherboard controls voltage?? or do I hav to change it myself?

Also if i do increase voltage does the amount of heat produced jump up drastically?

Thanx in advance.

K-C

greffov will become famous soon enough
from my experience, with a higher fsb, the system stays longer stable if you increase the vcore voltage, but I also felt that that gave some extra heat to the cpu. I couldn't get my 2500+ stable at 400MHz FSB, I didn't dare to push the voltage any higher than 1.8V (1.650 is default).

yo seb, youre prob getting away with it because the volcano 11 is a damn nifty fan, , as for voltages, as the guy above said, dont add on by more than 0.3v or its goodbye to your precious little barton core!
