No desktop :(

I'm running windows 2000 pro and after doing a spy sweep with Spy Cleaner Gold i restarted and for some reason i have no desktop. I can use task manager to start most programs but it seems that windows programs (ie my computer) wont run. there's no taskbar or icons or anything, It also seems I've lost file associations because when i run task manager and select new task all my files show the default icon (ie the one you get for unknown file types) instead of the proper icon.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If Spy Cleaner Gold has a Restore Backup Feature...do it...most have this....
Than Re-boot again & see if it is like it was before.
