dvd rom

please help i have a LG dvd-rom DRD816)B can install cd or play cds on it but when i try to burn music in windows media or nero burner is not found.

used to work fine recently installed in new casing. any ideas !!!!!

Don't know a lot about computers.

If you have 2 drives..1 CD & 1 DVD..look for a Dropdown Menu to choose the Drive you want to use.

thanks i only have the one any other ideas. in nero which i have now unistalled thinking that was the problem said i only had image drive

I just re-read your post...you say it's a DVD Rom...if it's not a DVD Writter..just a Player..you cannot burn.

Re-read again....ok, it used to work till you installed it in a new case...

berks is on a distinguished road
I know with my burner i cannot have the DVD-rom drive and the burner drive on the same IDE cable, not sure if yours is set up this way but it could be a reason.
