Files Stuck in Recycle Bin!!

I have two Photoshop files that are stuck in my Recycle Bin, they won't be deleted and they won't be restored. It says they're "being used by another person or program" but I know they are not. The recycle bin is calling them by strange file names, "Dc25" and "Dc49". I have run adware/spyware and virus scans and they found nothing. I've tried Disk Cleanup and still they're stuck there. What can I do? Please help, thanks!

Open up the RB & right click on 1 of the files, if you have Delete in the right click menu..it might work....also are you using Norton Protected Recycle Bin..?..if so turn it off & try to delete again.

If your on XP, try using the Disk Cleanup in System Tools..check the box for Recyle Bin..than click OK to run.

have you tried to reboot? That might shut down the program which has the files in use.

Hiya ColleenS and welcome to the board
Are these digital camera files by any chance or did you work on them and save them as .psds? (psd=native photoshop file format)

Another thing you could try, is to boot into safe mode, and try deleting the files from there.

MoveOnBoot

"Copies, moves or deletes files and folders on the next system boot. The utility is very useful when the user needs to replace or delete files which are locked by other applications, loaded into the memory or just cannot be changed until next system boot."

Scroll down to the freeware version near the bottom of the page. Looks like it might be worth a look.

I didn't reply with MoveOnBoot...cause it dosen't show right click option in Recycle Bin...I keep forgetting about the Browse To Menu..so it might work.
