Word 2003 crashes display

Have seemingly exhausted microsoft support for this one.

Problem is the everytime I use Word 2003, it crashes my display after 1 to 10 minutes usage.

Already ruled out graphics card or driver conflicts, template, resolution, refresh problems as well as registry corruption or paragraph markers.

Already tried reinstalling without success. Have Windows XP Pro SP2 and Office 2003 Pro SP1.

I dare anyone to fix this one.......

please.........

First - I assume when you say everything is cleared, you have tried installing WinXP and then immediately Office (without drivers, etc) and no SPs. If so y don't you try to install it on another machine. If it crashes again - the problem could be your copy of Office. If not - either WinXP copy is bad, or->hardware problems exist. This is the best I can offer - start to dig from a clean installation. And if it works start installing the drivers one by one and trying the Office work after each installation. Hope this helps

Good luck

Dear Technobeast,

thankyou for your reply. I want to try and avoid what may be the inevitable long hours of reinstalling everything.

Firstly some more info. The machine I built from components and runs all other applications (3D games, video editing, other office applications) just dandy.

Windows XP and Office 2003 are original disks which I used on a previous machine before building the new one. Never had any problems.

Word Crashes Display

It happens randomly -1 to 10 minutes after starting Word.

By the way - did a reformat of drive and reinstalled windows XP Pro followed immediately by SP2 then Office.

Tried it - crash!!!

Microsoft support rang this also who walked me through changing registry to "Old office" then reinstalling Office to My computer on a new folder (advanced options install).

Tried it - crash!

Help!
