windows installer failure

everytime i try to install sumthin it cans out. i dont know why.
any help? (win2k all updates)

Does it say something (error message or something?), does it do something, or what? Does it just freeze up?

it gets to configuring windows installer, then says 1067: unable to install installshield scripting runtime

If it is scripting runtime and with 1067 meaning it is terminating, I would assume that you are missing something needed to install. Perhaps vb runtime files or something. Can you give an example of what you are trying to install so I can see what it takes.
