WRT54G & WRT54GS Disconnecting issue.

Well after a few hours at it I worked out why my linksys WRT54G kept disconnecting... It took me forever to work it out but I thought I might give everyone a heads up why it does it and how to fix it because I could not find a normal answer on google much less any other place.

After looking into it being myself and stupid It didnt hit me that both my modem and router is trying to be my PPPoE connection.. This creates issues with the connection for all the computers so if you have this issue and still get disconnected every now and then after updating your routers firmware.

You need to go into your modem and set it for a bridge mode once done you need to configure your router to PPPoE set in all the info etc. I recommend contacting your isp for the info you need to setup a PPPoE connection on your router then have linksys walk you through step by step unless you are like myself and know how to set it up.

If you are still getting disconnections after this check if your router and modem both have the most up to date firmware. If they do you should look into see if you have any software thats a firewall running or something this is also a common issue for disconnection lose.

If you are still having issues feel free to post here or start a new topic and ill do what little research i can to find a way to help you fix it.
