prevent clients from releasing the routers ip
I have a couple of machines hooked up to a router thats connected to my cable modem for internet access. If you goto network connections you will see an icon called "internet connection/gateway". How do I disable that, because if lets say my room mate were to right click on it and click disable, it will force my router to release its ip. Here is a screenshot of what it looks like.

don't know if this should be deleted or not...but I figured it out.
I just disabled UPNP (Universal Plug and Play) from my router and it removed that from all client machines. Last edited by section31; 09-05-2005 at 11:41 PM. |
