The Zone Alarm Settings? Trusted IPs, Allow access to shared resources and to share resource?

they can 'see' each other, so what does it say when you try to access them?

OK - try to check the logs (traffic, security, etc) of the firewalls of both ZoneAlarm PC and Norton PCs. One of these should have the IP of the blocked PC and state why !!!???!!1

I think Zone Alarm pro cloaks that machine so it appears invisible and does not repsond to pings. What you need to do is edit your ZA settings so that it allows pings from the NAV machines.

Is everything ZA related shutoff? Type services.msc at Start->Run. And see if there's any ZoneAlarm service that has the Started status. If yes turn it off and make sure it's stopped. What about the Windows Firewall? Is it stopped?

I have exactly the same issue. If you disable it - i bet ya it works no idea y but even if the ips are in your "trusted zone" it is not possible to acess the files. Personally i just turn it off and use my routers firewall - much more effective than software firewalls
