should i go wireless
http://www.freedom2surf.net/adsl/homeuser.php
this is the uk isp i am thinking of chaning to. They now offer 2meg broadband with a 10 gb cap. i already have a usb modem but the computer is in a bad location becaus it needs to be close to the phone line. If i were to upgrad to a wireless Voyager 2100 Wireless Router what sort of distance would this work over and how reliable is wireless ? Currently i have one pc but will soon be gettign a second. Also how difficult would it be to get a network up and running i have a good knowlage of computers but have never set up a network Last edited by ABOU; 03-06-2005 at 03:02 PM. |

Well folks
I use wireless connection to my ISP for more than a year and I have no problems, only when the weather is realy bad the signal falls, but I am connected to AP that is 4 kilometers away! All you nead is a good antenna and direct visibility! And i forgot to mention this - my radio with 24BD antenna is on the roof of the building and is connected with ethernet cable to teh router! |
