accessing from another computer!
I would like to setup access to my home computer from my work computer. Basically be able to send a file home to one file or vice versa. I know you can do this because we have remote access to our main office server from our remote office.
we just type in the correct ip address with job folder and then enter username and password and we are in. Anyone have a good how for this one? |

You should check out this nifty little program Berksie
Radmin Has an FTP function included in the package Also, we're running this at work along with Symantec's VPN from home for access and it's working great

Have you ever heard of TZO ? If you have highspeed access at home and at work this works extremely well. If your OS is XP for your home PC you can set up Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) to access the Home PC from Work. TZO comes in handy when you have an ISP that likes to change your IP address every so often. TZO monitors the IP and allows you to connect to your Home PC via a website. The cost is around $40.00/yr. and it is realitively easy to set up. I would recommend having a router at home to handle NAT for added protection.

If you have Windows XP Pro on the remote computer, you already have all the software you need. With Remote Destkop you can access your remote computer and bring to it local resources: disk drives (so you can copy files between computers), printers (any printing done on the remote can be sent to local printers) and serial ports.

In the Remote Terminal Client, under "Local resources" you can enable "Drives", so your local drive becomes available on the remote computer (so you can copy files between them). Alternatively you may want to try UltraVNC as a terminal server and client. It's an improved RealVNC which features file transfer capabilities. Also it's able to work with DirectX video rendering modes or even overlays. It can use a WinVNC video driver for improved performance (optionally).
