Wireless router

ok i have my internet coming to my computer through a wirless linxsys 802.11b router and too get to my setteings (port forwarding and stuff) i put http://192.168.1.1 in my address bar like you are supposed to, it asks for a password, so i use the default leave username blank and type admin as password, ok the default paswword USED to work, but now it doesnt and i dont remember ever changing it, is there a way to find out what the password and username is since the default one just stopped working. i swear i didnt change it.

on the linksys router in the default setups, don't you use admin as the username and no password? It's been a while but I could have sworn thats the way it was.

Well only thing I can think of is to just reset the router but then you will loose all your settings back to original, either that or keep trying the guessing game.....LOL

Well you are right about the password, I was just looking at the manual for my wireless linksys, say default the username is blank with the password admin in lowercase. My guess is start trying usernames and passwords that you commonly use, I highly doubt anything would have changed unless you changed them.

I hate when that happens
I've gone the "hard reset" route a few times with my linksys as a result of my forgetfulness

The problem is that if you are useng the sandart password and access from the WAN interface haven't been forbidden then everybody can change it
I made that stupid mistake with my bridge and I had to reset the thing and then set it up again

Yes.
And I recommend you to set up some good password - not a standart one
and disable access from WAN interface if you don't really need such access.
