Help can't set up Broadband Router

undefined I am trying to connect my laptop and my dell pc to the internet via a WebSTAR DPX USB Cable Modem and Q-Tec 790RH broadband router.

Problem is although everything claims to be connected and enabled it isn't. I can't actually view the Internet on either computer.

I followed the set up instructions enclosed with the router but am really confused by the following....

To connect a cable modem with the broadband router check the cable with the related users guide, (undefined where do i find this ) undefined then the cable modem will autoatically configure itself. The broadband router is configured to automatically assign addresses to each PC.

Fill up the MAC address of the network adaptor where the DNS server need a certain address with the network adaptor, or press the "Clone MAC Address.

I went to the WebSTAR DPX USB Cable Modem website but it says I shouldn't need to register the MAC address.

here's a few pages that may help you: http://www.qtec.info/products/product.htm?artnr=13529

http://www.qtec.info/service/support...tm?artnr=13529

im taking a guess here but are you in the uk and connecting via either eurobell, telewest or blueyonder?

if this is the case you wont need to register a mac address

other things to note, make sure the modem is connected to the router via the WAN (wide Area Network) port, also try switching ports from WAN port X to WAN port II

the default remote access address for your router is http://192.168.1.1/ you will need to access this page in order to tell the router what type of connection it is using.

AAAAAAAAnd last but by no means least, welcome to the forums
