Internet Sharing Help Please.

OK hopefully I'll get a quick response.
I have a friend coming over with his laptop. I'll probably connect him to the internet. My problem is my router is kind of in an out of the way spot because I use the wireless capabilities. My question is if I can just hook him up to one of my ethernet connections on my computer and share from there, or if I should just hook him up to the router. I believe if I hook him up to the router I won't have to run the network wizard to share the internet, like I would probably have to do if I want to share the internet directly from my computer. I don't want to have to screw with my internet settings and have to straighten it all out later. I guess I'm kind of answering my own question, but what would be the easiest and safest way to temporarily connect my friends laptop to my internet connection?

If you share directly from your PC and bridge the two LAN connections you won't have to mess with anything. Just select the outside connection, CTRL and select the other. Right click and choose Bridge. After it finishes your friend should have a connection to the outside. . Just give him a different free IP (this is if you don't have a DHCP server somewhere) and use the same settings as yours (without the IP).
Of course both ways should work OK.
